Trinity College was my stomping ground when I was a student at the National College of Art & Design which at that time was located close by on Kildare Street beside the seat of Government, Leinster House. I have many fond memories of attending student gigs and balls in the grounds of Trinity and occasionally scaling the back gates to get in to a party in rooms. To pay my way through Art College I sold paintings through Combridge Fine Arts, a gallery on Suffolk Street. Trinity was the inspiration well I kept going back to, never tiring of painting the timeless and remote beauty of the buildings; always finding something new. I can remember sheltering from a sudden downpour, watching the sheets of rain through the Campanile Arches; and in 2018 I stood there again to capture that view.
