Iceland

I fell in love with Iceland on my first visit in 2018 – the buildings, landscape and colours are so different from Ireland and yet there were striking visual similarities between the old fishing trawlers in both countries. This sketch is of the ‘Dolphin’ a ruined trawler near Akranes lighthouse. I had an exhibition of my paintings in the lighthouse in 2022, during the Irish Days Festival, ‘Ireland to Iceland: Over Water’ a mixture of Irish and Icelandic scenes. In 2026 I will release Limited Edition Prints of my Icelandic collection.
